Each channel has a first mixer (M12,M22) at a single sideband and receiving a local signal (FIp, FIq) at a fixed intermediate frequency and a second mixer (M114,M124) receiving a reference signal (SRR) similar to the two reception channels. In parallel with each second mixer is a delay (LR212,LR222), different for each channel, followed by respective radar frequency insulators (I213,I223) and mixers (M214,M224). One or several delays are chosen to give an unambiguous but fine frequency measurement in the operational frequency range. The split channels at the intermediate frequency deliver the signals for relative comparison to the same processing stages (CP30,CN35,T40) as those of the interferometer.
