PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a communicating method for self-diagnostic information, whereby a diagnostic instruction and a result report are efficiently executed concerning communicating method for the self-diagnostic instruction and the diagnostic result between a device to be tested where a self-diagnosis is executed by the instruction from a host device and the host device. SOLUTION: In this communication method, the host device executes the editing of the diagnostic order of the device to be tested in STEP 11(S11), it is judged whether or not be communication function of the device to be tested is added in edited diagnostic order in STEP 12, edited diagnostic order is transmitted to the device to be tested unless the communication function is added in diagnostic order so as to wait the reception of a diagnostic end report in STEP 13, the transmission request of the diagnostic result is transmitted after taking a prescribed timing when the communication function of the device to be tested is added in diagnostic order in STEP 14, the diagnostic result transmission request is transmitted when the diagnostic end report is received and also after passing the prescribed timing in STEP 15 and the self- diagnostic result which is transmitted from the device to be tested is received in STEP 16. |
