PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To slightly suppress the reduction of the aperture rate of display pixels in the case of integrally constituting a picture display device and a picture reader and to effectively maintain the contrast of a display picture and that of a read picture. SOLUTION: Plural stripe-like displaying scanning electrodes 3 are arranged in one direction on the plane of a display face side transparent substrate 1 at fixed intervals on the inside face of the substrate 1 and comb type reading scanning electrodes 5 are formed in parallel with the electrodes 3. Then approximately L-shaped light receiving elements 7 are formed so as to be superposed with the electrodes 5 and comb type reading data electrodes 6 are arranged in a direction orthogonal to the electrodes 3. On the other hand, plural stripe-like displaying data electrodes 4 are formed in a direction orthogonal to the electrodes 3 at fixed intervals on the inside face of a light source side transparent electrode 2. |
