PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase adhesion and various kinds of durability, to simplify the structure and to manufacture at a low cost with excellent productivity by forming a adhesive layer, composed of a specific thermosetting adhesive, to a substrate on one surface of a polarizing film. SOLUTION: This polarizing plate is manufactured by forming the adhesive layer 4, which is composed of the thermosetting adhesive consisting essentially of a copolymer of ethylene, an acrylate based and/or methacrylate based monomer and maleic acid and/or maleic anhydride and is stuck directly to the liquid crystal cell surface substrate, on one surface of the polarizing film 1 (the surface of the side bonded to the liquid crystal surface substrate). In such a case, the thermosetting adhesive consists essentially of the copolymer of ethylene, the acrylate based and/or methacarylate based monomer and maleic acid and/or maleic anhydride and the content of the acrylate based or methacrylate based unit in the copolymer is 5-50wt.%, further preferably 14-45wt.%. |
