PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an operator to operate an image forming device withoutpating attention to direction change by switching an effective operational direction based on the result detected by human body detecting sensors provided at both operating positions of the device. SOLUTION: This device having the operating positions A and B on two side faces facing each other respectively and capable of being operated from each operating position is provided with the human body detecting sensors 7 and 8 arranged at the right positions in each operational direction and a control part 52 which judges whether a copying operation is in execution or not and executes work for judging the operational direction where the human body is detected by the human body sensors, when the copying operation is not in execution and the present effective operational direction. When the operational direction where the human body has been detected by the human body detecting sensors, is different from the present effective operational direction, the control part 52 switches the effective operational direction to the operational direction where the human body has been detected. |
