METHOD AND INSTALLATION FOR CONFINEMENT OF A LIQUID MASS BY A GAS LAYER

Method and installation for confinement of liquid masses, to mould, shape or simply preserve said masses in containers that they might corrode. Wall (11) of the container is porous and a circulation of gas towards the liquid mass (14) is set up in the container to place a gas layer between it and wall (11). According to the invention, the gas layer is at high static pressure, of 2 bars or more, which is obtained by building a sealed enclosure around cavity (12) of confinement. The liquid matter may be metallic, a melted crystal, glass or a semiconductor.
