PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to intentionally select a sensor to be diagnosed, to enhance the interesting degree, and to gaze a display for diagnosing the action of the selected sensor by providing an image forming device with a selection means optionally selecting a sensor to be diagnosed in a diagnosis mode from plural sensors and deciding the carrying frequency of a recording material in the diagnosis mode according to the selected sensor. SOLUTION: The mode is switched to the diagnosis mode by simultaneously depressing the key '1' of a ten-key group 102, a clear key 103 and a panel reset key 104. In the diagnosis mode, plural keys corresponding to the respective sensors are displayed on a liquid crystal touch panel 101. By depressing the key of the sensor desired to be diagnosed, the sensor being an object to be diagnosed is selected. The detection state of the selected sensor is shown by displaying 'ON' on the key displayed on the panel 101 when the existence of a copying paper is detected by the detection sensor. Besides, it is shown by displaying 'OFF' on the key on the panel 101 when the absence of the copying paper is detected by the detection sensor. |
