PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a toner image from being faultily transferred on paper by controlling the start timing or paper feeding timing of a fixing roll so that the leading edge of the paper is not nipped by an abutting part deformed when the fixing roll is stopped. SOLUTION: In a fixing device 23, the toner image on a paper is fixed in the case where the paper on which the toner image has been transferred at a transfer position passes through the abutting part of a pair of fixing rolls 23a and 23b. The paper on which the toner image has been fixed by the fixing device 23 is housed in a paper ejection tray 25. A timing control means controls the writing start timing of an image writing device 1 and the driving start timing of a fixing roll driving device so that the abutting part in the case where the fixing rolls 23a and 23b are stopped may not be aligned with the leading edge of the first paper carried after the driving of the rolls 23a and 23b is started. Therefore, the speed variation of the paper occurring because the leading edge of the paper is nipped by the abutting part deformed in the case where the rolls 23a and 23b are stopped becomes small and the transfer deviation of the toner image on the paper is prevented. |
