PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the improper state of toner concentration control caused by a deviation in the control point of a toner concentration sensor due to the secular fluctuation in the characteristic of a developer. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with a control means for calculating a developing capacity, in using the developer in an initial stage, to define the developing capacity as an initial developing capacity A0 , setting thresholds Amax' and Amin' from the initial developing capacity A0 , a correction reference developing capacity Aref and intrinsic developing capacities Amax and Amin (602) and comparing a developing capacity A(n) calculated timely with the thresholds Amax' and Amin' in level relations (603 and 605), to change the detection reference of a detecting means for detecting the level of a toner concentration, in accordance with the results of the comparison (604, 606 and 607). |
