PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the safety of an operation by a method wherein only position data, data which contains a place name inside an advance-direction area out of retrieved traffic data, map data corresponding to the advance- direction area and map-related data are displayed. SOLUTION: A position-data computing means 61 finds position data, an advance-direction computing means 65 finds a vehicle advance direction from it, and an advance-direction-area computing means 66 finds an advance-direction area from them. A traffic-data retireval means 62 retireves traffic data corresponding to the advance-direction area from a storage part 4, an inside-advance- direction-area place-name retrieval means 67 retieves an inside-advance-direction- area place name from a CD-ROM 3, a traffic-data and place-name comparison and judgment means 68 compares the place name with the retrieved traffic data, and traffic data related to the operation of a vehicle is selected. A map- data retrieval means 63 retrievs, from a ROM 3, map data corresponding to the advance-direction area and map-related data. Only the position data, the related traffic data and the map-related data are displayed on a display part 5. |
