PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a navigation system which can be operated without a memory card by a method wherein information related to map information stored in a storage means at a navigation apparatus is sent, by radio, to another navigation apparatus so as to be stored in a storage means at the apparatus. SOLUTION: Navigation information is arranged in a personal computer system 1, a data transfer program to an optical communication apparatus 13 is started, a remote control device 3 is directed to the optical data communication apparatus 13, and a receiving key at the device 3 is pressed. The device 3 sends out a request-to-receive command, a personal computer body 11 reads out navigation information from a hard disk, it sends the information to the apparatus 13, and the information is converted into transmission data so as to be transmitted to the device 3. The navigation information is stored in the device 3, the device is brought into an automobile, and a transmitting key at the device 3 is pressed toward a navigation apparatus 2 carried on the automobile. The apparatus 2 receives the information by a receiver 29R, and the navigation information is set. A user can drive the automobile by using the information. |
