CELL COPY ERROR MONITOR FOR MULTI-CAST CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize proper monitor for a cell copy abnormality with respect to the cell copy system utilizing a buffer in a cell exchange system such as ATM exchange system. SOLUTION: A header conversion section 208 applies read control of a copy source cell in a cell buffer 206 based on path discrimination information ICID-C of a copy source cell and multi-cast information (OVCC table) including path discrimination information O-ICID-A indicating a transfer destination of a cell generated by copying. In this case, the header conversion section 208 monitors a setting abnormality of multi-cast information by monitoring read frequency from a cell buffer 206 of the copy source cell. Furthermore, the header conversion section 2108 compares path discrimination information added to the copy source cell read from a buffer circuit with path discrimination information of the copy source cell included in the multi-cast information to monitor a setting abnormality of the multi-cast information.
