PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate light having no dispersion of light intensity by detecting the dispersion of the light intensity at every deflection angle and correcting the light intensity of a light source based on the data so that the dispersion of the light intensity may not be caused. SOLUTION: In a light intensity detection mode, a semiconductor laser 1 is turned on, and the light enters a CCD array 7 after it is deflected to perform scanning by a rotary polygon mirror 4. Light quantity distribution detected at such a time is stored in a memory. In such a case, the light intensity is high in the center of the CCD array 7 and low on the periphery thereof. Thereafter, it is corrected and calculated in an arithmetic circuit. The light source such as the laser 1 is turned on so that the light intensity detected by the CCD array 7 may be constant. The light output of the laser 1 whose light intensity detected is high is corrected to be high. The corrected light quantity distribution is detected by the CCD array 7 again, the light output of the laser 1 whole light intensity is high is corrected to be low and the light output of the laser 1 whole light intensity detected is low is corrected to be high. |
