PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timing restoring equipment and its method in a vestigial side-band modulation for realizing a fully digital receiver. SOLUTION: In the equipment and its method 10 for restoring timing information from a vestigial side-band(VSB) modulation signal, the left and right component signals are generated from a received signal, and filters Bl (f) and Br (f) 12 and 14 respectively filter the left and right component signals. Next, the filtered signals are multiplied together without taking the conjugate complex number of one of the signals like in band edge component maximizing(BECM). The sample rate of an analog/digital converter is adjusted by using the generated output signal through a feedback loop. |
