The femoral rail has at the metaphysical level, a pyramidal form of section reducing in the direction of the diaphysial section. The metaphysical section (1a) has a quadrangular cross section (1b) and has an endo-cervical section forming an extension (1a1) for the central part of the femoral neck. The endo-cervical section has an internal face with a concave surface and an external face with a convex surface to provide bipolar stabilisation. The endo-cervical segment has its upper section defined by the neck.
