PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently suppress and prevent the occurrence of cracks in an element and intrusion of moisture or water into the element due to a thermal stress applied to the element through an external electrode or the intrusion of a plating solution into the element in a plating process. SOLUTION: Laminated ceramic electronic components have glass layers or layers (glass and cavity) 5 composed of glass and cavities which are interposed between ceramics 1 and an external electrode 4 near the periphery of the exposed sections (connecting sections) of the internal electrodes 2 of an element 3 and have thicknesses of 2-15μm. In a method for manufacturing the parts, the external electrode 4 is formed by applying conductive paste containing conductive metallic powder of a metallic species having a diffusing speed faster than that of the metallic species constituting the internal electrodes 2 to the exposed parts of the internal electrodes 2 and prescribed locations near the peripheries of the exposed parts on the surface of the element 3 as external electrode forming conductive paste and baking the paste at a temperature at which the Kirkendall effect which accelerates the diffusion of the metallic species to the internal electrodes 2 from the external electrode 4 is recognized.
