FIELD: flour-milling industry, in particular, washing, steaming out and drying of buckwheat prior to producing groats. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has frame, vertical housing, diffuser axially positioned in central part of housing, conveyance auger positioned within diffuser and provided with drive, locking and controlling equipment with source of steam. Steaming out chamber is positioned between housing shell and diffuser with conical perforated bottom. Annular gap between diffuser lower edge and conical perforated bottom is adapted for transfer of buckwheat from steaming out chamber into auger cavity. Source of steam is formed as steam boiler with electric heaters and positioned in lower part of housing below perforated conical bottom so that annular steam-air-distributing channel is defined above upper heat-transfer wall of steam boiler. Mentioned channel is communicated with vent device through pipeline with gate. Condensate collector is positioned in central part below auger cavity, which is connected through discharge branch pipe with buckwheat stripping device.
