A device for detecting and alarming malfunction of a steering device of a ship is disclosed. The malfunction alarming device of a steering device comprises a cylinder for ratating a steering gear; a pump(50) for regulating the inner pressure of the cylinder; and a control section for controlling instruction signals for operating the pump(50); a resistance detector(70) for detecting a resistance value which is generated by the operation of the pump(50); a comparator(30) which outputs a comparative value according to the instruction signal values inputted from the control section and the resistance value generated in the resistance detector(70); and an alarm signal generator(40) which generates an alarm signal according to the comparative values outputted in the comparator(30).
