PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obscure the beat noise-like diagonal stripes of a color liquid crystal display device in interlace drive by arranging the colors of the respective dots of microcolor filters to specific constitution. SOLUTION: The interlace drive for alternately driving first and second fields is adopted. The color filters have the many microcolor filters 30 of three colors, red, green and blue. The color arrangement of the microcolor filters 30 is uniformly distributed over the entire part of a screen and is so constituted as to be driven by the driving voltages of the polarities at which the immediate nearby dots of the same colors vary in the same fields. Since the driving voltages of the different polarities are written at the same dots adjacent to each other and, therefore, the respective fluctuations in the transmittance are offset and the display state hardly producing the diagonal stripes is attained. The same color dots are arranged continuously in two pieces each with respect to the pixels of the same scanning lines. Further, the order at which the dots of the three colors along the same every other scanning lines line up is the same and the dots are arranged by shifting the order at which the dots of the three colors along the remaining same signal lines line up by one row each. |
