PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a color image forming device where time required for image formation is shortened and image formation efficiency is satisfactory by providing a transfer-material cooling means, which is actuated after image fixing on the first side of a transfer material in double-sided image formation, into a transfer-material carrying path. SOLUTION: In the double-sided image formation, the surface of a fixing roller 11 is heated to about 160 deg.C and image formation on the first side is carrier out. Then, the transfer material 1 is carrier along a double-sided carrying path 5 with its surface temperature about in the range of 60-70 deg.C, it is inverted by a paper inverting part 6, and image formation on the second side is carried out. In this case, if the image on the second side is fixed with the surface temperature of the transfer material about in the range of 60-70 deg.C, a disturbance of the surface during the fixing and a curl occur. To prevent them, the surface temperature of the transfer material 1 is decreased to about the range of 30-40 deg.C by the cooling fan 16 of the transfer-material cooling means 14 provided in the double sided carrying path 5, and thus the surface temperature of the transfer material 1 immediately before the fixing means 4 is adjusted to about a room temperature which is the same as the surface temperature of the transfer material 1 obtained when the image is fixed on the first side. |
