<p>A germicidal composition, preferably for the body, comprising: i) a compound of formula (1), wherein at least one of R?1, R2 and R3¿ represents a linear or branched C¿8-30? alkyl or alkenyl group and the remaining groups are the same or different and individually represent a methyl, ethyl or benzyl group; R?4¿ represents a methyl or ethyl group; R5 represents a linear or branched C¿1-30? alkyl or alkenyl group, or a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether or polyoxyalkylene alkenyl ether having a linear or branched C1-30 alkyl or alkenyl group; and M represents a hydrogen atom or an alkali metal atom; and ii) a compound of formula (2), wherein R?1 to R4¿ have the same meanings as defined above and R?6 and R7¿ are the same or different and individually have the same meannings as R5, wherein the weight ratio of compound (1) to compound (2) is from 99:1 to 80:20. The composition produces little skin irritation and exhibits excellent sterilizing power so that it is useful for the germicidal washing of the skin or hair.</p> |
