The adapter uses an electronic circuit with a signal processor receiving the stereo signal and processing the signals for each stereo channel in dependence on the hearing characteristics of the left and right ears of the individual. The specific hearing characteristics of the individual can be obtained via a audiometry test for the frequency range between 100 Hz and 18 Khz for each ear.
