Steam engine

The engine powered by vapour, and especially steam, has a crankshaft (21) in a housing. At least one cylinder rotor rotates in the housing round an axis (7), with cylinders (13) radially to the axis, closed by cylinder covers (33). A sliding piston (15) in each cylinder, radially to the axis, slides in each cylinder to form an expansion zone between the piston head and cylinder cover. The pistons are connected by rigid piston rods (17) to the eccentric mountings (29) at the crankshaft. A gas exchange control links the expansion zones through a turntable control unit (55,57). It has openings giving an alternating connection to the steam and condensate mountings for the fixed gas change channels (78,77) at the housing and the openings (48) on the outer sides of the cylinders. Part of the turntable control has a synchronised rotation with the cylinder rotor, and the other part is fixed at the housing. The crankshaft (21) axis (23) is offset by a given amount (e) from the rotor axis, with both axes (23,7) parallel to each other.
