To produce a low energy fuse cord, a plastics extruded tube (3) is coated on the inner surface with a powder explosive material. The explosive powder material is applied at the outlet opening of the extruder (1) into the extruded tube (3). Also claimed is an apparatus with a dosing unit (5,6) as a screw (6) rotating at a defined speed within a tube (5), which extends through the extruder (1) to its outlet opening.
