<p>The weapon system (50) for attacking underwater objects, particularly sea mine, comprises a projectile launching device (52) open at its foremost end and has a projection charge (54) at its rearmost end. A projectile (61) is positioned in front of the projection charge in the launching direction. It contains a very explosive charge, retardation ignition (72) and, connected with the launching device, has devices for bringing the launching device to a position near to the target to be destroyed. These devices comprise an underwater vessel. The projectile has a housing (58) made of titanium with great tensile strength. The retardation ignition is initiated by launching conditions. The launching initiation devices determine the extent of the approach of the vessel to the target and transmit this data to the operator of the vessel.</p> |
