The invention concerns a measuring cartridge for analytical chemical measurements and a method of operating said measuring cartridge. The measuring cartridge for liquid or gaseous samples comprises a first connection for a sampling device, such as in particular a hypodermic needle, a second connection for a pump device, such as in particular a syringe, and at least two chambers disposed between the first and second connections. At least one of the chambers comprises one or a plurality of calibrating solutions (calibration chamber) and at least one chemical or biochemical sensor is disposed in the region of at least one of the chambers (sensor chamber). Furthermore, fluidics-control elements are disposed between individual chambers and the two connections and/or between individual chambers themselves.
