Airbag releasing sensing system for motor vehicle

The sensing system (1) consists of six similar sensors (2), an evaluating unit (5) and a bent source (10), and each sensor is constructed from a transmitting/receiving stage (3), a reception scanner (12), a low-pass amplifier (14), and a driving stage (11). The transmitting/receiving stage produces a HF signal with a frequency of 76 GHz, radiated from the antenna (4), with characteristics as shown, and mixes the input signal directly into the basis band,in a self-oscillating mixing stage. In order to limit the range of the measuring field the diode of the mixing stage is switched on and off by a beat pulse.
