The solar collector has an elongated reflector (10). The reflector, at the end which faces away from the sun at the highest sun position, is closed off with a reflection wall (14). The reflector is fitted on a support structure (12), which makes possible a re-positioning of the reflector after the high position of the sun, so that the sun radiation (13), viewed in the lateral direction of the reflector, always falls vertically onto the reflector and from it is concentrated on the absorber (12). Such solar radiation as previously met the side area of the reflector at an inclined angle is also concentrated by the reflection wall onto the absorber.
