A screw (6), particularly a self-drilling screw, comprising a threaded portion (9) and an upper portion (15, 16) with a diameter close to the thread root diameter (b). The upper portion comprises a flange (10) perpendicular to the screw axis (X-X), and one section (18) of the flange is angled downwards towards the threaded portion. The screw is useful for attaching an insulation layer (1) to ribbed steel sheets (3) or facade cladding.
