The casement gearing (18) and drive rod gearing (15) are coupled together so that the casement gearing is operated apart from its operation in the tilt position of the drive rod system also in the swivel position of the drive rod system. The casement window swivels inwardly about the vertical axis into a position where the casement and casement gear are relieved of the packing pressure built up in the closed position. This allows opening-out member (19) to be uncoupled relative to the casement and the casement to swivel into the cleaning position. Switch devices (21-23) are mounted adjoining the path of movement of the drive element (16) which are controlled accordingly to switch off the drive motor of the drive rod gear and switch on the drive motor of the casement gear.
