DOOR LATCH ACTUATOR

A door latch actuator (10, 210, 510) is to be engaged by a latch bolt (44) of latch bolt assembly (38) on a door (40) mounted for movement between a first door position and a second door position. Broadly, the door latch actuator (10, 210, 510) comprises an actuator element (16, 116, 216, 512, 514) and a driver (18, 312, 316). The actuator element is disposed in proximity to the distal end of the latch bolt (44) when the door (40) is at the first door position in the secured condition and moves between a first actuator position and a second actuator position. In the first actuator position, the actuator element (16, 116, 216, 512, 514) allows the distal end of the latch bolt (44) to secure the door (44). When moved into the second actuator position, the latch bolt (44) is displaced from the extended state to the retracted state causing the door (44) to be unsecured.
