A sheet material handling apparatus such as a photographic sheet material processor, includes at least one pair of rollers biased towards each other to form a nip therebetween through which a sheet material path extends. The apparatus is characterised in that at least one of the rollers comprises an outer region (60) of elastomeric material at least a portion (64) of which contains potassium titanate whiskers. Wear on the roller is thereby reduced.
