Method and device for automatically exchanging ring shaped chipping tools on chipping machines, in particular for cutter rings for woodworking machines

The programmed sequence control disconnects the milling machine (1) when its power demand increases. It then uncouples the cutting ring (3) automatically from its supporting element and moves it out of the carriage after automatic opening of the housing door. The ring is then automatically exchanged for a refurbished ring which after inserting in the machine housing is automatically coupled to its supporting element. After automatic closing of the housing door the milling machine is started up again.
