<p>The present invention is an organopolysiloxane compound having at least one group having the formula
<Chemistry id="chema01" num="0001"><Image id="ia01" he="16" wi="80" file="IMGA0001.TIF" imgContent="chem" imgFormat="TIFF" /></Chemistry> and at least one group having its formula selected from -R<Sup>3</Sup>-C<Sub>6</Sub>H<Sub>5</Sub> or -R<Sup>3</Sup>-O-C<Sub>6</Sub>H<Sub>5</Sub> per molecule, wherein R<Sup>3</Sup> is a divalent hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, R<Sup>4</Sup> is hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group or an acyl group, d has a value of 0 to 150, e has a value of 0 to 150, with the proviso that the value of d+e is at least one. These compounds reduce the amount of foam in hydrocarbon fuels, especially in diesel and jet fuels. Our organopolysiloxane compound functions as a foam control agent that displays consistent compatibility and miscibility with additives which are frequently present in hydrocarbon fuels.</p> |
