MICROWAVE COOKING CONTAINER FOR FOOD ITEMS

A container (10) for cooking and browning pot pies and similar food items (11) in a microwave oven is disclosed. The container (10) has a susceptor layer (34) positioned between the top panel (12) and the pot pie (11). A pan (26) for containing a food item (11) and having a susceptor lining for further cooking and browning the food item (11) is located below the susceptor layer (34). The arrangement of susceptor layer (34) in connection with the pan(26) provide for the desired degree of cooking and browning the food item (11) without the need to remove the food item (11) from the transporting container (10).
