PURPOSE:To automatically generate a variation having the feature of an original melody by providing a non-harmony sound to an arpeggio pattern in accordance with a set feature parameter. CONSTITUTION:From an input device 2, an original melody and a code advance are inputted, and stored in an original melody memory 3 and a code advance memory 4, respectively. In such a state, a user selects a kind of the musical scale used for a variation from in the musical scale set of a musical scale data memory 5. Subsequently, at the time of instructing to generate the variation to a device, the user can select a pulse scale stored in a pulse scale memory 7 by considering the feature of a rhythm for allowing the variation to have, and controls the rhythm of the variation by the selected pulse scale. In such a way, by providing a non-harmony sound to an arpeggio pattern, data of the completed variation is stored in a generated melody memory 8. In such a state, from a monitor 11, the generated variation can be outputted through a CRT 12, a staff notation printer 13, a musical sound forming circuit 14 and a sound system 15. |
