PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planted floating island comprising a unit floating island obtained by packing a planting base material made of a vegetable fiber with a bag like net, free from concentrated stress, capable of miniaturizing, inexpensive in construction cost, simple in connection between floating islands and making a specific connecting tool unnecessary. SOLUTION: This floating island is composed of unit floating island 1 having prescribed planar shape, obtained by inserting and arranging a float 4 into a planting base material 3 composed of a vegetable fiber, inserting the planting base material 3 in which the float 4 is arranged into a bag-like net 2 knitted into a prescribed planar shape and packing the base material 2 with the net 2. For example, a net made of polyethylene is used as the net 1 and coconut husk fiber is used as a vegetable fiber constituting the planting base material 3 and a rectangular rod made of a closed cell foamed resin is used as the float 4. The planar shape of the unit floating island is preferably quadrangular. Furthermore, when the unit floating island is alone used as the planting floating island, the island is preferably moored with an anchor on the water bottom by a mooring cable 5. |
