INK JET RECORDING FLUID AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recording fluid having good water resistance and good stability of ink delivery from a nozzle. SOLUTION: This ink jet recording fluid is prepared by dispersing an organic pigment having a mean particle diameter of 10-150nm and an average aspect ratio of 1:1 to 2:1 or colored particles prepared by coating the peripheries of resin particles having a mean particle diameter of 50-300nm with the above organic pigment in an aqueous liquid. The process for producing an ink jet recording fluid comprises mixing an organic pigment dispersion prepared by kneading an organic pigment, a water-soluble inorganic salt and a water-soluble solvent, dispersing the resulting mixture in water and removing the water-soluble inorganic salt and the water-soluble solvent from the dispersion with a dispersion of resin particles having a mean particle diameter of 50-300nm.
