<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a lowering of the life of a thrust bearing by decreasing load applied to the thrust bearing in a swash plate compressor. SOLUTION: In an operating chamber 38, a coolant sucked in an intake port 24 is compressed to the intermediate pressure, and in an operating chamber 39 formed on the external driving source side, the coolant compressed in the operating chamber 38 is sucked from a communicating passage 30 to be compressed to the discharge pressure. Thus, the axial load applied to a rotating shaft 5 due to a pressure difference between the internal pressure of a swash plate chamber 38a and the atmospheric pressure is substantially cancelled by the working force applied to a double-head piston 8 by the coolant in the operating chambers 38, 39.</p> |
