PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To repeatedly form a stable image free from density irregularity by holding a transfer film composed of a film having a large number of through holes between a sublimable dye supply film and an image receiving material to superpose all of them one upon another and imagewith heating them to form an image on the image receiving material. SOLUTION: A transfer film 4 composed of a film having a large number of through-holes is held between a sublimable dye supply film 3 obtained by forming a sublimable dye layer on a base material film for forming the sublimable dye supply film by a sublimable dye supply means 1 and an image receiving material 6 to superpose all of them one upon another and the whole is heated on the side of the sublimable dye supply film 3 by the heat source of a recording head 5 such as a thermal head and the sublimable dye in the sublimable dye supply layer is diffused through the through-holes of the transfer film 4 to form an image on the image receiving material to complete transfer. Thereafter, the sublimable dye supply film 3 again newly receives the supply of the sublimable dye by the sublimable dye supply means 1 to be regenerated. Therefore, a stable image free from density irregularity can be repeatedly formed. |
