PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute good quality recording by an ink jet quantity from a recording head conforming to characteristics of a recording medium. SOLUTION: A control means which controls printing signal treatment and driving of a recording head is provided. When an ink jet quantity setting mode switch 3 is operated, the control means inputs a data of 50% black pigment from an image ROM 5, and forms an image on a recording medium. A state of the image is detected with a detection means having a reflecting type light receiving part 8, and an ink jet quantity from a recording head is set by an ink jet quantity setting register 9 based on this detection. The ink jet quantity is inputted to an ink jet driving part 7 to be controlled, and recording is carried out by an ink discharge quantity suitable for recording medium paper. |
