PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pearlescent pigment coating composition having a freely controllable pearly gloss (gloss reflectivity) and can give a soft appearance resembling that of natural pearl when applied to a substrate (e.g. spherical substrate). SOLUTION: This pearlescent pigment coating composition essentially consists of 100 pts.wt. pigment to which a pearly gloss is imparted and 0.01-50 pts.wt. collagen powder having a particle diameter of 30μm or below.
