PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition containing a star type polymer produced by an anion polymerization and having a specific structure in the continuous phase of a rubber-modified vinyl aromatic polymer and excellent in flowability, sheet moldability, etc. SOLUTION: This resin composition comprises (A) 1-50wt.%, preferably 10-50 pts.wt., of a vinyl aromatic polymer obtained by an anion polymerization method and having a weight-average mol.wt. (Mw) of 500000-5000000 and a star type branched structure, and (B) 99-50wt.%, preferably 90-50wt.%, of a rubber- modified vinyl aromatic polymer obtained by a radical polymerization method. The component A preferably has a Mw of 500000-2000000 and a mol.wt. distribution of 1.0-3.0. The component B preferably has a Mw of 150000-300000. The average particle diameter of the rubbery polymer in the dispersion phase is 0.1-4.0μm, and the content of the rubbery polymer is 6-30wt.%. The star type branched structure of the component A is obtained as a branched polymer wherein three to eight branches comprising the vinyl aromatic polymer are bound to the residue of a multi-functional low mol.wt. compound as the center.
