PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a calcium-based filler excellent in dispersibility and redispersibility. SOLUTION: This filler contains, as active ingredient, a calcium compound surface-coated with a saccharide containgβ-2,1-bond fructose polymer bearing glucose on the reduced terminal. This filler is obtained by reaction of an aqueous suspension of calcium hydroxide with carbon dioxide or a mineral acid (salt) in the presence of a saccharide containingβ-2,1-bond fructose polymer bearing glucose on the reduced terminal.
