PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric porcelain compsn. suppressing a capacity change and having superior temp. characteristics. SOLUTION: This compsn. contains a principal compsn. represented by the formula xBaO+yTiO2 +zCeO2 [where (x), (y) and (z) are within the range defined by points (a)-(e) in the diagram and x+y+z=1] and 0.6-2.4wt.% niobium oxide (expressed in terms of Nb2 O5 ) and 0.05-0.8wt.% chromium oxide (expressed in terms of Cr2 O3 ) as subsidiary components.
