Method of determining plague in arteries - uses blood pressure measurement taken at same time at upper arms and ankles while differences are plotted

The build-up of plague on the walls of arteries causes an increase in blood pressure. Measurement of blood pressure is often very erratic and is affected by various factors such as e.g. the 'white coat effect'. The results of experiments have shown that reliable results can be obtained by measuring the differences and/or the ratios of blood pressures measured at the upper arms and at the ankles at the same time. The results gave a clear indication if plague was present.
