PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm a remained quantity of ink in an ink cartridge at any time if necessary on a host computer side. SOLUTION: When a plurality of colors of ink are recorded by jetting, the number of recorded dots is counted per each color to calculate a consumed quantity of ink. Further, a remained quantity of ink is calculated by adding the consumed quantity of ink by purge action and flushing action, which is stored in an ink remained quantity memory 92b. When an ink remained quantity data request command is transmitted in transmission or the like of a recording data to an ink jet recorder 30, a data for remained quantity of ink classified by a plurality of kinds of color is read from the ink remained quantity memory 92b, which is outputted by transmission to the host computer. A bar graph of the ink remained quantity, or an alarm message per each color is displayed on a display of the host computer. |
