PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the fastening torque accuracy by disabling a run circuit in response to the switching of a switch assembly to the second position on the clutch coupling release position after the switch assembly is kept at the first position on the clutch coupling position for a prescribed period. SOLUTION: A power tool stores a motor 32 in a main body 18, and it has a control circuit 44 provided on a printed circuit board 45. A clutch device 50 in addition to a transmission 42 is stored in the nose 20 of the tool, and a clutch adjusted tool is provided in relation with an adjusting collar 52 to adjust the torque setting of the tool. A decoupling sensor 56 detecting the coupling release of the clutch device 50 is provided in the nose 20. A run circuit is disabled in response to the switching of a switch assembly to the second position on the clutch coupling release position after the switch assembly is kept at the first position on the clutch coupling position for a prescribed period, and the fastening of a bolt or the like is finished.
