<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an air permeating area in a moisture separating device and thereby reduce a pressure loss, and at the same time, make moisture removal more efficient by forming the moisture separating device into a cylindrical shape and arranging the moisture separating device in an air flow path parallel with the cylindrical body of an air cooler. SOLUTION: A wire mesh (demister) installed in the internal air flow path of an air cooler 1 or the shape of a plate-type moisture separating device 2 is made cylindrical, and the moisture separating device 2 is arranged parallel with the cylindrical body of the air cooler 1. In addition, the moisture separating device 2 is equipped with a lid 2A for closing the upstream side of the device 2, a heat conducting pipe 3, a support plate 4 for the heat conducting pipe 3 and a water chamber 5 for a cooling water flowing into and out of the heat conducting pipe 3. An arrow mark indicates the flows of the air and the cooling water. If it is designed in terms of the same flow rate as that of the cooling water, the air cooler can be made compact and therefore, made less costly. Further, if it is designed to be of the same size as that of a water cooler, the air cooler will have a decrease in the air pressure loss and an increase in the moisture removing performance. Consequently, it is possible to enhance the performance of an air compressor.</p> |
