PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a furnace for melting glass without inducing leakage of a glass raw material from a conjunction part of a throat. SOLUTION: This furnace for melting glass has front walls 1b, 1b of a melting chamber 1 behind the furnace for melting glass at an angle (θ) of 3-20 deg. starting from a throat 4 in opposing to both side walls 1c, 1c. End faces 1e, 1e of the front walls 1b, 1b are fitted to throat facers 4a, 4a, respectively at joining parts of the throat 4 and the both front walls 1b, 1b.
